Barcelona will immediately rely on Christensen, but not at home to Bruges
Gilabola.com – Barcelona center back, Andreas Christensen, apparently is not injured, and will soon return to defend the Blaugrana, although not at Club Brugge’s home ground, Thursday morning WIB 6 November 2025.
Previously, today, it was reported that Christensen had left Barca’s training field early, and was not included in the Blaugrana squad list that would compete against the Belgian club.
This of course raises concerns regarding the possibility of a recurrence of the injury to the Danish star, who has previously missed Barca’s last three matches due to gastroenteritis and a calf injury.
Part of Hansi Flick’s Plan
However, according to the latest information World of Sportsit turned out that what Christensen experienced was a ‘false alarm’.
Even though he had to leave the training field early, Christensen did not experience any setbacks related to his injury.
On the other hand, the tall 29-year-old defender’s exit from Barca’s training session – earlier than his team-mates, was part of a pre-arranged plan with the manager, Hansi Flick.
Indeed, those close to Christensen have stressed that he is not injured, and that he left the training field early because it was intentional, even planned as part of the player’s workload management.
Flick doesn’t want to take risks even though Christensen has recovered
Christensen has now completely recovered from the physical problems that made him miss Barca’s last three matches, namely against Olympiacos, Real Madrid and Elche.
However, Flick does not want to take unnecessary risks regarding the condition of the Danish international player, considering his long history of injuries in the past.
For this reason, the German coach chose to maintain Christensen’s fitness so that he can rely on him in the La Liga match against Celta Vigo which will be held at Balaidos, Monday morning WIB 10 November 2025.
Hoping to Extend Contract at Barca
So far this season, Christensen has appeared in seven La Liga and Champions League matches, with a total playing time of 338 minutes.
The former Chelsea defender’s contract at Barcelona is scheduled to expire at the end of this season, and he hopes to extend his tenure at the Catalan club.
However, even though Flick really believes in Christensen, Barca officials are unlikely to extend his contract, because they are worried about his injury-prone condition.
