Real Madrid Wonderkid Still Shows His Commitment to the National Team Despite His Injury
Gilabola.com – Real Madrid’s talented young player, Franco Mastantuono, continues to show great commitment to the Argentine national team despite the injury problems he is currently experiencing.
Mastantuono – a new player who is also Real Madrid’s long-term mainstay, has been out for some time due to pubalgia problems – the same injury that Barcelona young star Lamine Yamal and Athletic Bilbao player Nico Williams are currently suffering from.
As a result of these conditions, Mastantuono has not played since Madrid’s 4-0 win over Valencia, and has also not joined the Argentine national team during the current international break.
However, as stated ASMastantuono still went to the national team training camp, in order to show his commitment to the team and maintain his closeness to his colleagues in the dressing room and also the coach, Lionel Scaloni.
Recover with Focus
The Spanish newspaper added that Real Madrid views this season as an adaptation season for Mastantuono, and therefore they are very careful about his fitness.
For this reason, the club will not take any risks until his condition has completely recovered 100 percent and there is no deadline in sight.
The goal – for both Mastantuono and Real Madrid, is for the 18 year old player to be fully fit and ready to fight for his place in Argentina’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Return immediately to Madrid and continue his rehabilitation
Mastantuono’s plan was to strengthen his lower body through physical therapy, and he followed a very specific plan to quickly get rid of the discomfort.
In fact, he will return from the Argentina National Team camp on Wednesday next week, November 19 2025, to restart his recovery routine.
Coach Xabi Alonso hopes that Mastantuono can return to fitness as soon as possible, especially considering that the schedule will become increasingly busy in the next few months and Madrid does not have adequate backup players in the right wing position.
However, so far this season Mastantuono has been the Spanish manager’s preferred player in that position.
Real Madrid officially announced the recruitment of the wonderkid from Argentina in June 2025. At that time, Mastantuono was still 17 years old and had only arrived at the Bernabeu on August 14 2025, after Mastantuono had turned 18 years old.
Regarding this recruitment, both Madrid and his old club, River Plate, agreed that Mastantuono would continue playing at River Plate first, and would appear at the 2025 Club World Cup before moving to Madrid.
