This feud began when PSG demanded €240 million (around IDR 4.08 trillion) back from the player as compensation for a failed transfer to the Saudi Arabian club, Al Hilal. In the initial lawsuit filed in June, the 26-year-old player assessed that he was treated inhumanely at the start of the 2023/24 season. Mbappé claims PSG deliberately left him out of the main squad after he refused to sign a new contract.

He was placed in training with players who were about to be released by the club – a practice that had previously happened to several other footballers, triggering protests from the French players’ union. Ultimately, Mbappé was not included in PSG’s pre-season tour to Asia and missed the opening match of the season.
