Fierce Match between Two Relegated Teams

Semen Padang bagged important points at home to Persijap Jepara, in their efforts to leave the red zone towards the middle of the season.

Apart from that, this was Semen Padang’s first win after never winning in the previous nine matches – one draw, eight losses.

Currently, both teams are struggling to get out of the red zone. Unfortunately, Persijap Jepara failed to take advantage of their advantage as hosts. Apart from that, they also lost one player, Najeeb Yakubu, who was sent off in the 24th minute for a foul on an opposing player.

Persijap 10 Players, Semen Padang Scores Two Goals

Both teams tried to show a pressing performance from the start of the match. However, host Persijap had to play with 10 players after Najeeb Yakubu received a straight red card in the 24th minute.

It started with Yakubu’s tackle on Rui Rampa, which after VAR checking proved he had committed a serious foul on Rampa. The referee also issued a straight red card, so the hosts only had 10 players.
