PSIM Failed to Stay Away from the Top Five After Being Held to a Draw by PSBS Biak

Gilabola.com – PSIM Yogyakarta failed to move away from fifth place after being held to a draw by PSBS Biak, 2-2, in the postponed match of week 8 of the 2025-2026 BRI Super League season which was held at the Sultan Agung Stadium, Bantul, Monday afternoon 29 December 2025.

Don’t accept losing at home

This result is certainly quite disappointing for the hosts who are determined to deliver victory in front of their loyal supporters, right in the last match of the year.

One thing that was suffocating for the Laskar Mataram squad was that they almost lost after the visitors made a surprising appearance and took a 2-0 lead in the first half. Eduardo Barbosa brought PSBS to break the deadlock in the 13th minute, which was then doubled by Ruyery Blanco right in the 40th minute.

PSIM managed to recover in the second half. The team coached by Jean-Paul van Gastel cannot accept losing at home, let alone losing at the hands of a team that on paper is below them.

Laskar Mataram also caught up with goals scored by Ze Valente from the penalty spot in injury time 45+1, which Ezequiel Vidal finally equalized in the 48th minute.
