Fever Candlelight Concerts in London- Location and Seating
Three of the above concerts were held at Southwark Cathedral. They are Coldplay, Taylor Swift and EDM candlelight concerts.
Candlelight concerts take place at various locations around London. For example, you might find it at Westminster’s Central Hall, St Mary’s Church Le Strand, or even London’s SEA LIFE Aquarium. In fact, later in the day we see a Hans Zimmer concert.
Most importantly, we chose the Fever candlelight concert we attended largely because of the artist. Next, we match them to availability dates and London neighborhoods. For example, for the Christmas Movie Soundtrack we visited Borough Market in the afternoon when it closed and had dinner nearby at Roast that evening. It made the perfect holiday date night for us. So, this is something worth researching if you’re visiting London at Christmas and want a festive evening activity away from the crowds.

We always arrive at Southwark Cathedral at least 15 minutes before the concert starts. In particular the organization of events is always impressive. Several Fever staff members are seen at key points. They wore easily recognizable event t-shirts. The staff members are friendly and make sure you know exactly where to go for your seating area. Often, we were escorted directly to our seats.
One time we went during a summer heat wave. Although I was hesitant to go due to these poor weather conditions, the temperature at Southwark Cathedral wasn’t too bad. The train on the way home was a different story.
We always choose Premium seats facing the players. They are usually the first to sell out for a show. The sound throughout the show was incredible. This includes any time the first violinist uses the microphone to introduce or recap a song.
In terms of the acoustics and the way the show was operated, I can’t provide any feedback that would make it better in this review. The ‘candles’ that line the steps at Southwark Cathedral and other venues provide a beautiful foreground to the performers’ stage areas.
There is always an announcement about mobile device use before the evening begins. The audience was asked to refrain from filming, until the last song. And they tell you that you will be notified when that will happen later in the concert. Most viewers respectfully adhere to these guidelines. Only once did a guy next to me at a concert ignore this.

Fever Candlelight Concert in London- Performance
City String Ensemble was a female quartet that gave a performance that evening at Coldplay’s concert. That’s amazing. The players started on time with a short introduction and immediately released their rendition of Clocks.
On the way home from that first concert, Mr. Sunny and I discussed how fun it was to see the musicians so engrossed in their art during their performance. Their love for Coldplay’s music is visible as they tap their feet and smile at each other while playing.
The first violinist spoke well to the audience at every opportunity. He told short anecdotes about Coldplay songs or musicians that added to the excitement of the candlelight concert. Contextual information between sets is part of the concert format.
About halfway through a candlelight concert in London, he told me about the group that formed while they were at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Additionally, they are available for hire to perform at weddings.
To be fair, neither Mr Sunny nor I are well versed in music, apart from what we hear in nightclubs or on the radio. He actually said before the concert started that he couldn’t name any Coldplay songs.
Blasphemy for the British, right?
However, throughout the show he recognized many people and even said he wished the hour-long show would continue for another hour.
Personally, I think an hour concert in the summer is the perfect length. I love the precision in everything that happens. And the performance of the iconic band’s music created by this string quartet is impressive.
All other concerts attended after this one had the same effect on us.
