Duet Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo can lift the Manchester United level
Gilabola.com – Mason Mount believes that the presence of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo can bring Manchester United to a higher level in European soccer competition.
The club has issued a total investment of Rp 2.8 trillion to recruit these two players – Cunha from Wolves and Mbeumo from Brentford – in an effort to improve the attack line which had recorded a negative goal difference in the last two seasons.
Mount, who only played less than 50 matches in his first two seasons at Manchester United because of an injury, said that he believed the new recruits would push all squads to higher standards.
He revealed that every time he had the opportunity to appear on the field, a player must try to have an impact and take advantage of the moment.
Mount also said that he always believed in his abilities, but reminded that football is a team game, and every player must work together to adapt to the new dynamics of the squad after the entry of Cunha and Mbeumo.
Mount admit that kicking each other is now reasonable
Mount revealed that Ruben Amorim had given him full trust from the start, and he felt he knew what the coach wanted.
He also felt helped because he was accustomed to playing in the 3-4-2-1 scheme which was also often used by Amorim. Therefore, Mount felt he had an important role in helping young players understand their role in the formation.
On the other hand, the 26 -year -old acknowledged that the pre -season training atmosphere was far more intense. He said that Manchester United players were now not hesitant to “kick” each other in an internal game session in order to show their seriousness. This is called a reflection of the fighting spirit that began to grow back in the team.
Mount also admitted that he had received too many yellow cards when he recovered from injury. He explained that the violation was often a way for him to be directly involved in the match and restore focus.
Final bitter memories, new targets in the new season
Mount tells how difficult it is to accept Manchester United’s defeat in the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur. He said that the defeat in Bilbao was one of the six finals he had lived with the club and the national team, all ended in defeat.
The player brought in from Chelsea for Rp 1.2 trillion stated that he had felt disturbed by the failure, especially because he felt he could do better in some moments in the match.
However, Mount said that now is the right time to look forward. He said that the preseason was a vital time for the whole team to fix last season’s shortcomings, especially after Amorim had only entered the middle of the previous season.
He also emphasized that his personal target and team this season: brought Manchester United back to European competition, with the Champions League as the main destination. According to him, all players want to play in the prestigious event, and that is their main motivation at this time.
