Semenyo’s backheel goal brings Manchester City to FA Cup title, Chelsea collapses at Wembley

Chelsea only started to attack after the 20th minute. Marc Cucurella had time to get space on the left side, while Joao Pedro tried several times to penetrate the City defense.

In the 27th minute, Wembley roared when Haaland scored from close range. However, the Norwegian striker’s celebration was immediately stopped after the linesman raised the offside flag.
Matheus Nunes was first in an offside position when receiving Rodri’s pass before providing an assist to Haaland.

Semenyo actually wasted a golden opportunity in the 48th minute when his header flew over the crossbar even though he was standing freely in front of the goal.
Chelsea then asked for a penalty several times. Joao Pedro and Jorrel Hato fell in the penalty box in a duel with City players, but VAR did not change the referee’s decision.
Then came the deciding moment in the 71st minute.
Haaland moved on the left side of the penalty box before sending a horizontal cutback to the front of the goal. Semenyo greeted him with a beautiful backheel that sent the ball into the Chelsea goal.

Chelsea’s last chance came in injury time when Liam Delap met Malo Gusto’s cross with a header. The ball deviated slightly from the target.
