Tottenham offers IDR 700 billion for Serie A midfielder, replacing Maddison who is injured by ACL
Gilabola.com – Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly submitted an offer worth € 40 million (around Rp700 billion) to recruit Nico Paz from Como, in order to replace James Maddison who suffered a serious knee ligament injury (ACL). Unfortunately, the offer was rejected by the Italian club.
Maddison’s injury occurred during the preseason match against Newcastle. The scanning results showed that the 28 -year -old midfielder had a tear in the right knee ligament and was confirmed to be absent almost throughout the 2025/26 season.
This condition is a major blow to the brand -new manager Thomas Frank, who now has to find a creative substitute in the Spurs midfield.
Spurs targe Nico Paz, young talent former Real Madrid academy
The name Nico Paz, a 20 -year -old midfielder owned by Como, sticks out as one of Tottenham’s main target. Although he just joined Como last season, the Spanish-Argentina-blooded player immediately appeared captivating in Serie A. Previously, Paz had studied for six years at the Real Madrid academy and even recorded 8 appearances in La Liga Season 2023/24 with El Real’s senior team.
According to a well -known Italian journalist report, Gianluca in Marzio, Spurs have submitted an initial offer of € 40 million (around Rp700 billion). However, the offer was immediately rejected by Como who is now trained by Cesc Fabregas.
The Serie A club appreciates Paz in € 70 million (around Rp1.23 trillion) and is said to only be willing to open negotiations if Tottenham submitted at least € 60 million (around Rp1.05 trillion).
The reason for this high price is believed to be because of the sales clause agreed with Real Madrid, where Los Blancos is entitled to 50% of Nico Paz’s sales to other clubs.
Another source denies there is an official offer from Spurs
Meanwhile, a report from journalist Daily Mirror, Ryan Taylor, said that Tottenham’s internal source actually denied having submitted an offer for Nico Paz. However, the club’s interest in talented young players remains real considering the condition of the midfield that is being crisis.
Other options: from Harvey Elliott to Eberechi Eze
Besides Nico Paz, Tottenham also continues to monitor several other alternatives to fill the emptiness left by Maddison. Names such as:
- Bilal El Khannous (Leicester City)
- Harvey Elliott (Liverpool), which is valued at around £ 45 million (Rp944 billion) and also glimpsed
- RB Leipzig as a substitute for Xavi Simons to go to Chelsea
- Maghnes Akliouche (Monaco)
- Royalti (Crystal Palace)
