That opportunity opens in the Serie A match on Monday night, when Roma host Cagliari. As long as Gian Piero Gasperini’s team does not lose at the Stadio Olimpico, these conditions will be fulfilled.

Transfer Value and Fund Distribution to Verona and Fiorentina

Roma previously paid Ghilardi’s loan fees worth around IDR 42.5 billion. If the purchase clause is activated, the capital club will have to spend an additional IDR 136 billion, with a potential bonus of up to IDR 17 billion.

However, Verona, as Ghilardi’s home club, will not receive the entire transfer value. Fiorentina has a further sale clause of 50 percent, so the two clubs will share the proceeds equally.

With this scheme, Verona and Fiorentina will each receive IDR 68 billion from permanent transfer fees, plus potential bonuses of up to IDR 8.5 billion per club. The two also equally split the initial loan costs paid by Roma.

For Roma, the certainty of this transfer will secure Ghilardi’s services for the long term. Meanwhile, for Verona and Fiorentina, this clause ensures additional income without having to release players directly from their squad this season.
