I have lived in London permanently since 2013. That’s when I started this website and since then I have helped thousands of the ideal UK visits. This article gives you direct and practical advice to help you avoid stress and take advantage of your London trip as well as possible.
1. The best time to plan your trip to London
London is a destination throughout the year, but your experience can vary greatly depending on when you visit.
Summer brings a festival and a long day. Winter offers a comfortable pub and festive lights. Spring and autumn are ideal to avoid the crowd while still enjoying decent weather.

If you plan a trip to London in December, you need to order activities long before. The same is true for summer, especially during school holidays. Months outside the season such as January or November are more calm and more affordable, even though the daytime is very limited.

2. What should be packaged for a trip to London
The best advice I have for you is to package layers. As a person who grew up in Florida, I found a few summer days in London unbearable. This is because most buildings do not have air conditioning. This can be very brutal on the subway. However, at night, it will be very cool. Always bring jumpers or raincoats and comfortable shoes.
Avoid overpacking, because most hotels have limited storage space. And check to see if your hotel has an air conditioner if you plan to visit in the summer.
Don’t forget the British Steker Adapter. If you plan to shop, leave your room in your suitcase. Many American visitors beat and regret it. Waiting to buy goods freely does not always succeed as the best idea. Although many items can be purchased at Amazon, some items are really unique in London so you want to be ready to take it when you can.

3. How long is the trip to London?
Three to five days are ideal for the first visitor. This gives you enough time to see the main view without being hurried. If you only have three days, plan carefully. Use a travel plan. Focus on areas with several attractions that are grouped together, such as Westminster or near the London tower. 4. Travel to London: what to order before you travel
When planning a trip to London, it is important to order the main experience. This includes the London Tower, afternoon tea and the West End Theater performance. Many popular places have been sold out weeks before.
Consider combining activities to save time on your visit and experience more British culture. Some of what I recommend are:

5. How to Talk around London
Use London Underground for most trips. It’s fast and reliable. Download the CityMapper application. This helps you plan the route and show you real time update.
Taxi may be your most expensive choice, but a trip with a black taxi is a pleasant bucket list to do in London at least once. The most budget -friendly choice is to take the bus and that is definitely an icon too. Sitting in front at the top level, if you can!
Cards without contact work on all public transportation, including buses. And, Uber is also here. But, they tend to need time to find you in your location. However, Mr. Sunny and I used Uber when the train line broke down or was very delayed. Unfortunately, this can happen quite often.
Walk when you can. You will find most of the London residents run as much as possible. Sometimes faster than taking underground. So, before moving from one place to another, see how close your route is on Google Maps.

6. Place during your trip to London
For the first visitor, I suggest you prioritize the location rather than the budget. You may or may not agree with it but I feel strong about this suggestion. Choose accommodation in the central environment such as Covent Garden, Westminster or South Kensington, depending on what London tourist attractions you prioritize. These areas are safe, well connected and close to the main view.
Avoid living near the airport or outside the central London. Travel time can take your travel plan. And, if you only have 3 days, you don’t want to spend it riding a crowded train!

7. Cultural Tip For Americans Visiting London
Planning a trip to London as an American? Expect some surprises. You don’t need to give as many tips as possible in England. Many places including service fees. Ask for the bill; It won’t come automatically.
The word “toilet” is more common than “bathroom”. It takes a few years to stay here to really say it or even ‘loo’. But, I finally learned faster and easier to communicate with people with words they understand and forget whatever connotations I have with the requirements. Etiquette public transportation is tighter. Stand on the right side of the escalator. Queue properly. PUB culture is also different. Order in the bar. There is no table service. There are many more to know about each of them, which is why I made a video about all these things!

8. The last trip for a smooth trip to London
Make sure you check your data package for your cellphone to see if it is an international trip. Don’t rely on free Wi-Fi alone. And, make sure your credit card does not have foreign transaction costs, especially if you plan to use it for London Underground and Bus.
