Manchester United prepare a surprise transfer to recruit degraded club players
Gilabola.com – Wilfred Ndidi is back into the subject of the transfer market, this time because the low price is considered too tempting to miss.
Manchester United and Everton are both said to be aiming at the Leicester City midfielder. The price set is relatively cheap: only Rp 200 billion, thanks to the release clause that has been embedded in his contract since signing last year’s extension.
Manchester United is reportedly ready to trigger the clause, especially after they failed to qualify for European competition next season and lost the potential for revenue of around Rp 2.2 trillion.
They failed in the Europa League final last month adding to the pressure to overhaul the squad, especially the midfield that lost Jorginho to Flamengo and the possibility of Casemiro will be abandoned.
For Everton, Ndidi is also an interesting target, especially given his experience in the Premier League and its flexibility in the field. In addition, clubs from the Saudi Pro League have also shown interest in the 28-year-old Nigerian player.
Consistent performance and strategic position in the market
Although Leicester was relegated to Division two, Ndidi still appeared stable throughout last season. He was absent for two months due to a hamstring injury, but when he was fit, he became an important player under two different coaches.
Steve Cooper had played a more offensive ndidi like ENZO MARESCA at the Championship, and the results were quite significant – he recorded five assists in 28 Premier League appearances.
However, when Ruud van Nistelrooy took over the team, Ndidi’s role was returned to his more defensive position. In this position, he returned to be the main barrier in front of the Leicester back line.
Statistics show that he was ranked 15th in the number of tackles successfully in the Premier League last season, even though the minutes of playing were less than other players on it.
As the longest player in Leicester after Jamie Vardy’s departure, Ndidi is now faced with a great opportunity to return to the highest level of English football.
While Leicester prepared to lose several central midfielders such as Boubakary Soumare and Hamza Choudhury, Ndidi’s departure could be the beginning of a midfield reshuffle at King Power Stadium.
If Manchester United is serious, Ndidi can be a fast and inexpensive solution for a crisis midfield, while not quite a lot of budget is available to revolutionize Ruben Amorim’s squad.
