Real Madrid and Atleti competed in the Club World Cup, La Liga schedule was postponed?
Gilabola.com -Real Madrid and Atletico demanded the delay of La Liga schedule 2025-2026 after the two Spanish giant soccer clubs were involved in the Club World Cup this month.
Two weeks after last season ended, La Liga announced that the 2025-2026 season will begin in the end of August 17. That means, there is a pause of about 10 weeks between the end of the current season and the start of the new season.
However, two teams – Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid – will be a much shorter pause, because they are involved in the Club World Cup tournament which will be held in the United States next week.
For this reason, journalists Rodra now reported, Captain Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid demanded that La Liga competition in the season that only began on the weekend of August 24, 2025, if one of the teams managed to reach the final phase of the Club World Cup.
Both teams received full support from the Spanish Footballer Association (AFE) which had emphasized the requirement that the first match of Real and Atletico next season would be postponed, if they had to fight for a long time at the Club World Cup.
Mandatory holidays 21 days and minimum 3 weeks of pre -season training
The player’s association demands that the players get a mandatory vacation time for 21 days, as well as at least three weeks of pre -season training. This has been negotiated directly with Madrid captain, Dani Carvajal, and Koke – Atletico captain.
The two players have conveyed to La Liga regarding their hopes that La Liga postponed Kickoff next season, if their club managed to reach the tournament’s finals, in order to guarantee a short preparation time.
