Surprise, Kyle Walker immediately joined the English club after being thrown away by Manchester City

Gilabola.com – Kyle Walker almost certainly joined Burnley after Manchester City agreed on the transfer value of Rp 111 billion for the right back.

The 35 -year -old defender is rumored to be signing a two -year contract at Turf Moor, making him a fourth Burnley recruit in the transfer market this summer.

This agreement will also reunite him with Scott Parker, the current Burnley coach, who was once his teammate at Tottenham Hotspur, one decade ago.

Burnley is indeed looking for experienced players at the highest level, in order to strengthen their squad after returning to the Premier League. With the presence of Walker, they hope to patch up the gap in the back line with the experience and quality they carry from City.

This decision was taken after he spent half the last season as a loan player at AC Milan, a period that failed to restore his performance, until the Italian club was reluctant to activate the permanent purchase option.

Walker’s contract with Manchester City was actually valid until 2026. However, in the absence of an extension plan and minimal minutes to play last season, the two parties finally agreed to separate well.

His departure also allows City to reduce salary burden by around Rp 222 billion per year, given its status as one of the highest paid players in the squad.

A new challenge after a big success in City

Since being brought in Tottenham in 2017, Kyle Walker has recorded 319 appearances for Manchester City. In that period, he became an important part of the team that dominated English football.

He won six Premier League titles, one Champions League, and various other domestic trophies. However, at the age of 35, Walker now feels the need to look for new challenges while maintaining opportunities to remain in the radar of the British national team.

Although no longer a main part of Pep Guardiola’s squad, Walker is still included in the current plan of England coach, Thomas Tuchel. If he is able to perform consistently with Burnley, the opportunity to return to the international stage is wide open, especially considering the 2026 World Cup is getting closer.
