Two Juventus wings became the target of Forest after qualifying for the European tournament next season
Gilabola.com – Nottingham Forest prepares to welcome the new season with greater ambitions after ending the Premier League in seventh position and winning tickets to the European Conference League.
With a denser schedule, coach Nuno Espirito Santo reportedly wanted to strengthen his squad, and two names from Juventus sticking out: Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula.
According to a report from Gianluca in Marzio and confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, Forest has submitted an offer of Rp 473 billion to secure the wing duo.
Both players are still with Juventus in the Inter -Club World Cup, but their playing minutes are very limited – just appearing as a substitute in one match, while Mbangula has not gotten the chance to perform.
Weah, a player from the United States, last season recorded six goals and three assists out of a total of 39 appearances in Serie A and the Champions League. He is known for his flexibility in the field, can be played as a winger, striker, and full-back.
Despite the speed and ability to build games from the wing side, the defense sector is still a weak point in its play style.
Meanwhile, Mbangula, who is only 21 years old, is an inverted type right winger who used to play on the left side. Idia collected four goals and five assists from a total of 30 appearances last season.
The advantage lies in the ability of the dribble in a narrow space, an accurate crossing of cross, and a sharp ball without a ball to a dangerous area.
Although both are open to join the Premier League, negotiations between Forest, Juventus, and player agents are still ongoing, especially regarding personal agreements.
Juventus themselves hope to get an additional several billion rupiah more from this transfer, especially Weah and Mbangula are still bound by contracts until June 2028.
However, in the middle of this plan, concerns arose related to the stability of the Forest squad. The club is also in the process of bringing in three players from Botafogo, including Igor Jesus who appeared impressive at the Inter -Club World Cup.
If five new players really come in a short time, it has the potential to shake the harmony that has been built under Nuno’s leadership.
Forest currently has a combination of established attacks, with Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa as quality reserves. Then the question arises: Is adding players like Weah and Mbangula really urgent? Or will it create unproductive competition in the dressing room?
What is clear, with Forest will compete in European football next season, the depth of the squad becomes very important. If this transfer strategy is running smoothly, Forest may appear more dangerous, especially in the wing sector, thanks to the presence of two fast players from Juventus.
